You deserve healing.

This fast-paced world is weighing you down, and you feel like you can’t keep up. You’re drowning in a sea of self-help advice and you don’t understand why none of it works for you. You were taught to “suck it up”, and you know those words left deep wounds inside you. The influx of mental wellness trends are overwhelming and exhausting to follow. Your well-meaning rituals fade, making you feel incompatible with the people around you. The hectic demands of daily living are impossible to meet. The voice in your head keeps screaming, “Why can’t I breathe?!”

It might be time for a fresh approach. Toxic positivity and fleeting social media advice may not be supporting you, but I can. It all starts with your first session. Let’s take this step together.

About Kait

LCMHC-A, yoga teacher, and trauma-informed educator.

I earned my Masters of Education in Counseling from NC State University in 2021, and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Randolph-Macon College in 2015. As a former educator in underserved settings, I developed expertise in crisis prevention, trauma recovery, and psychoeducation for clients who don’t find traditional “self-help” approaches effective.

In 2023, I presented at the National School Counseling Conference on strategies for serving multilingual learners in schools. Additionally, I have provided continuing education for yoga teachers interested in integrating trauma-informed strategies into their practices.

Currently, I find fulfillment in working with clients who are taking their first steps towards trauma recovery. When I'm not in my telehealth office, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and dogs, or relaxing at home with my cats and a good book.

My specialties

Mind-body connection

Your mind-body connection is a powerful part of your identity. By learning to listen and respond to your body, you can heal your mind, and vice versa. We can work through that process together. This might look like using breathwork, guided imagery, or somatic practices.

Trauma-informed goal-setting

The spiral of trauma sits deep inside of you. Sometimes, it’s trauma that has passed through generations. Other times, it’s trauma from a single event. Regardless, trauma can make you feel frozen. Trauma-informed goal setting can help break you free, so you can live a life undefined by trauma.

Executive function coaching

Your mind is like no one else’s, and you don’t have to fit in the mold society has cast for you. While you may feel that your neurodivergence is a curse, I know we can capitalize on the way your brain works. And for those areas of insecurity? Let’s customize systems that will work for YOU.
